The Submarine Heritage Centre - HMS Olympus

Sponsorship Comments

This painting was a donation, as opposed to a commission, by Mrs Joan Cole of Barrow-in-Furness. Joan said " whilst having a coffee in the Forum 28 in Barrow in August of 2001, I spotted a painting of the Submarine Olympus by Tom Murphy. It was only the previous week that I had read an article in the local newspaper that a submarine heritage centre was to be opened here in Barrow and that Olympus would possibly be the centre piece. I decided to purchase the painting and present it to the Submarine Heritage Centre when it opened."
